Introduction to Hispanic American Literature

Introduction to Hispanic American Literature is a manual aimed at students of Spanish as a second language. For this reason, it is a non-exhaustive introductory text that according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) guidelines requires an intermediate reading level.

The first part of the book studies the literary periods in Latin America, particularly in Mexico, ranging from pre-Hispanic times to the avant-garde. The second part studies Spanish literature from the Middle Ages to the avant-garde. The manual contains grammar exercises that will help students understand the texts.

 

Introducción a la Literatura Hispanoamericana es un manual dirigido a estudiantes de español como segunda lengua. Por esta razón es un texto no exhaustivo que de acuerdo con las directrices del American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) requiere un nivel de lectura intermedio de español.

La primera parte del libro estudia los períodos literarios en América Latina, particularmente en México, que van desde la época prehispánica hasta las vanguardias. La segunda parte estudia la literatura española desde la Edad Media hasta las vanguardias. El manual contiene ejercicios de gramática que ayudarán a los estudiantes a comprender los textos.
